1. Agreement
These terms apply to sotwatch.com, the SoTWatch desktop app and its API. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to this version of the terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
SoTWatch is an independent community project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rare, Xbox or Microsoft.
2. Accounts
You need a personal Microsoft/Xbox account to use the desktop app. Keep access to that account secure and do not use another person’s account without permission. You must be old enough to use the connected Microsoft and Xbox services in your country.
3. What the service does
SoTWatch records recent-player signals generated during Sea of Thieves sessions and organizes them into encounter, profile and session views. Availability and accuracy depend on Windows, Xbox services, Sea of Thieves and network conditions outside our control.
4. Fair use
Do not use SoTWatch to harass people, publish private notes, evade platform restrictions, overload the API, reverse engineer authentication, scrape the service at scale or interfere with another user’s account. Do not present SoTWatch data as proof of wrongdoing without independent evidence.
5. Software and updates
You receive a personal, revocable and non-transferable right to use the SoTWatch client. Updates may change features, data formats or compatibility. The app may check for and download signed updates from sotwatch.com.
6. Availability
SoTWatch is provided as a developing service. We may fix, change, suspend or discontinue parts of it. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, permanent storage or complete encounter detection. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
7. Third-party services
Microsoft, Xbox, Sea of Thieves and other third-party services have their own terms and policies. You remain responsible for following them. Their names, trademarks and data remain the property of their respective owners.
8. Suspension and deletion
We may restrict accounts that abuse the service or put other users or infrastructure at risk. You may stop using SoTWatch at any time and request account deletion through privacy@sotwatch.com.
9. Liability
To the extent allowed by law, SoTWatch is provided without warranties and the project is not liable for indirect losses, missed encounters, inaccurate third-party data or service interruptions. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
